Argonon International heads to MIPCOM, see you on stand RSV.40

Argonon International will be attending MIPCOM this year supported by over 2,000 hours of programming across a range of genres from both the Argonon group and third party partners. Representing content from Leopard Films, Leopard USA, Remedy Productions, Leopardrama, Remedy Canada, Transparent TV and BriteSpark Films, Argonon International team Lynn Lugsden and Bea Tammer will be available at Stand RSV: 40. Slate highlights include:

Botched Up Bodies: Argonon International are now responsible for Transparent TV catalogue of popular factual series, formats and features and will be taking the popular factual series Botched Up Bodies to MIPCOM, building on its extensive success when it premiered on Channel 5 earlier this year. This access-all-areas series follows the incredible stories at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital as the talented plastic surgeon specialists bid to correct previous surgery mistakes for patients who have gone under the knife in search of a better body.

Restaurant Divided: With its world premiere later in October on Food Network in the US, Leopard USA show Restaurant Divided is one of the most exciting new formats coming to MIPCOM this year. Family restaurants on the brink of failure are given a unique chance to turn their fortunes around with the help of celebrated chef and restaurateur Rocco DiSpirito. Each struggling restaurant is run by a family torn apart by conflicting ideas on how to save their establishment. Rocco puts them both to the test by dividing the space into two restaurant concepts open side-by-side, serving real customers and critics for one night. Based on profitability, customer reviews and his own expertise, Rocco ultimately decides which vision is most successful and stays open.

Eve: Hugely exciting high concept international children’s drama from the award-winning Leopardrama stable has recently been commissioned by CBBC in the UK, with a world premiere set to follow at a future date. The series builds on the group’s film and drama credentials and the team will be available to discuss opportunities at MIP.

Incredible Hulk Woman: This incredible hour-long documentary, originally party of the Extraordinary People strand on Channel 5 in the UK, forms part of a wide ranging slate of popular factual content to be showcased by Argonon International at MIPCOM. The programme follows mum-of-three Helen Stephens who has been diagnosed with one of the rarest neurological conditions in the world – stiff person syndrome (SPS).

Sleeping Beauty: Argonon International’s award-winning arts catalogue is headlined by Sleeping Beauty, a high quality piece created by Britain’s most successful choreographer Matthew Bourne to celebrate the 25 year anniversary of his company, New Adventures. Filmed at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London, the show opened to rave reviews and has just completed a hugely successful UK tour, delighting audiences and selling out at many venues. Sleeping Beauty sees Bourne return to the music of Tchaikovsky to complete the trio of masterworks that started with Nutcracker! and the international hit Swan Lake.

Gourmet Express: This hugely exciting new series has been recently commissioned by Scripps Networks International for Travel Channel, the world’s leading international travel broadcaster, as a six part series. Presented by cookery writer and style connoisseur Jonathan Phang, the programme follows Phang as he boards some of the world’s most iconic trains, including the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express and the Eastern & Orient Express, for a series of culinary adventures. Each episode features a classic journey such as Venice to London, Paris to Istanbul and Singapore to Bangkok.

Street Patrol: This Leopard Films production, which was presented by Dominic Littlewood and premiered on BBC One in the UK, looks at the antisocial behaviour that blights people’s everyday lives and how it is dealt with by the authorities. The programme themes will resonate with audiences across international markets.

Cash in the Attic: One of the most successful formats in the world continues to go from strength to strength, supported by the launch of global portal Cashintheattic.com. Now seen in nearly 170 countries, Argonon International anticipate further interest in the series which ran on the BBC for over a decade.
