C5 re-commissions TTV’s hit show, Botched Up Bodies

C5 preps more Botched Up Bodies Channel 5 has ordered an extended second series of plastic surgery show Botched Up Bodies from Transparent Television. The commercial broadcaster has commissioned Transparent to make a 6 x 60-minute run of the factual show, which will air in two blocks in July and December this year. It follows the first two-part series, which averaged an audience of 1.38m (6.81%) in January, bringing viewers the stories of people left disfigured by discount cosmetic surgery. Michelle Chappell, C5’s commissioning editor for news, current affairs and documentaries, ordered the second series, which will be executive produced by Transparent’s Jazz Gowans. “With the initial run of Botched Up Bodies we soon realised we’d hit upon a topic with a huge talkability factor, when the show trended globally on Twitter whilst airing. We’re absolutely delighted that C5 has shared our vision for the programme,” Gowans said. It marks a busy time for Transparent, which was wholly acquired by Argonon last week
