We at Argonon are excited to unveil the next phase of our ambitious US growth plans, announcing a new senior creative team for Rose Rock Entertainment with the appointment of Darryl Cordova as Senior Director of Development and the promotion of Travis Schoen to VP, Production & Development. Reporting into Joe Weinstock, Rose Rock’s CEO who last month was appointed in a newly created role as CEO of Argonon USA, Cordova joins from Spoke Studios (part of Wheelhouse Entertainment), where he was Director of Development. Cordova will be based in Argonon USA’s West Coast HQ and will work closely with Weinstock to build on Rose Rock’s recent network commission wins, and further expand the Oklahoma and Los Angeles based label’s range of unscripted projects. Since launching last year, Rose Rock has created and developed a slate of original programming including two currently unannounced series in production for US networks as well as two specials, and has several projects in funded development including lifestyle, docuseries, and transformation formats. As Director of Development at Spoke, Cordova was part of the team responsible for the creation and development of multiple unscripted series for networks and platforms. Recent successes include 10 x 60’ series Secret Chef (Hulu) developed in partnership with Majordomo and Vox Media, returning series Inn the Works (Magnolia/Discovery+) and 8 x 60’ series Hype House (Netflix). Also confirmed today, Rose Rock’s Travis Schoen is promoted to VP, Production & Development, from his previous role as Senior Director of Development, completing a new senior team at Rose Rock Entertainment. The Rose Rock team will work closely with Steven McGovern, COO of Argonon USA, who joined the group earlier this year. The appointments underline our ambitions for the US market as we continue to scale up operations with a core focus on the West Coast. In addition to Joe Weinstock’s recent new role helming the group’s US operations, Argonon’s global CEO James Burstall took on an additional role as Executive Chair, Argonon USA to accelerate Argonon’s US growth strategy with Weinstock.
Rose Rock and Argonon USA CEO Joe Weinstock commented: “As green shoots emerge in the US creative economy; we’re investing in exciting and ambitious new talent to position Rose Rock for continued future growth. Darryl is a brilliant creative with a track record of landing returning hit shows and Travis is an incredibly talented team member whose significant contribution is being recognised with a well-earned promotion. With a new senior creative team in place for Rose Rock, we will significantly expand our ideation and ramp up our creative slate as we capitalise on the opportunities ahead.”
James Burstall, Argonon’s global CEO and Executive Chair, Argonon USA said: “As we continue to build a world class hub on the West Coast, I am excited about the shift in the US market as commissioning ramps up and our ambitious and talented teams continue to punch through with newly confirmed projects for US networks.
