Argonon Group launches first app

Argonon’s app, developed by London-based multi-platform specialists Miomni, allows iOS users to receive valuations on the move and access content, via their mobile device or tablet. The app release follows the launch of website CashInTheAttic.com earlier this year. Users can secure antique or collectible valuations on the move. The iPhone and iPad application also gives mobile users access to over 15,000 programme clips in the Cash in the Attic TV section, all categorised by genre. The clips have been selected from the eighteen series of the show, which ran for over ten years on the BBC and has been sold to 170 countries. “The launch of the app is a revolutionary development in the antiques market,” says Martin Lowde, md of Cash in the Attic Ltd. “From dusty warehouses to digital apps, we’re empowering buyers and sellers in a market which has been notable for restricted access.” The valuations team has already completed thousands of valuations since it launched the CashInTheAttic.com website earlier this year. Designed to appeal to collectors buying for investment, items are valued in one straightforward transaction via the Get Valuation section, and stored in the MyAtticsection on the app. Users can supply either images or video content of their collectible item which will be evaluated by one of a team of 20 experts across 35 different categories headed by Cash in the Attic presenter and antiques expert Jonty Hearnden. Users will also receive an industry-recognised certificate, with full information about the item, including its history and the valuation. The app will support the CashInTheAttic.com global portal, where members of the public can sell directly through the site’s Marketplace function, which links to online auction sites like eBay. Individuals with high-value items of interest will be guided through the process of trading the item professionally through the site’s partner auction houses.
